Social movements don’t always promise change in societies elsewhere than that of the country that is knowledgeable of the issues however, it raises awareness in issues we don’t typically see in our news source. The Invisible Children is a nonprofit organization founded by a social movement that has been terrorizing thousands of lives in Africa. Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army have been abducting children to train them to become child soldiers. They’re instructed to kill,
abduct, and relocate people that once lived in the east and central regions of Africa. There are four tactics the organizations use to take action, (1) media, (2) mobilization, (3) protection and (4) recovery. Within these steps awareness is built and people are able to assist the cause by donating what they can.
